Start Date: 01/20/2025

13 week assignment

  • Float Requirements: Within like departments if needed; ED will float to ICU inpatient units. Could be tasked as an aide if help is needed in this area.
  • Required Certifications: IL RN license, AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Certification, CPI (required – may take NAH offered course within 30 days of start date – unbillable)
  • Minimum Experience: 2 years (no new travelers – at least one completed contract required)
  • Charting Experience: Meditech strongly preferred (mandatory Meditech module training must be completed in the compliance process prior to start date)
  • Unit Specific Skillset: Fast-paced inner city ED

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Med/Surge unit, you will be essential in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring optimal recovery outcomes. Reporting to the Nurse Manager, you will utilize your core skills in patient assessment, IV insertion, and catheterization to provide comprehensive nursing support. Your proficiency in EMR and EHR systems, along with your BLS Certification and RN License, will enhance your ability to document and manage patient information effectively. Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive patient care in a Med/Surg setting, including catheterization, IV insertion, and tube feeding.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using Meditech.
  • Administer basic life support and manage airway as needed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Educate patients and families on health management and post-discharge care.
