Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room

Target Start Date: ASAP

Shift Times: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Weekends: Every other weekend

Rate: $58.00 per hour

  • Number of Staff: 85
  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 9 nurses, 3 PCT (CNA), 2 sitters
  • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 9 nurses, 3 PCT (CNA), 2 sitters
  • Patient Ratios: 4:1, occasionally 5:1 when critical patients come into the trauma room
  • Type of Equipment: Philips monitors
  • EMR: EPIC

What We’re Looking For:

Skill Set Most Recruited For:

  • Must Have: Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.
  • Minimum of 2 years of current ED experience
  • BLS/ACLS/TNCC required; PALS preferred
  • Must pass EKG exam

Typical Procedures Performed on Unit:

  • Chest tubes
  • Central line/Art Line placement
  • Sedation
  • Rapid infusion
  • Wound care
  • Target temperature management
  • EKG

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care in the Emergency Room, including patient assessment and IV insertion.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to BLS, ACLS, and PALS protocols.
  • Utilize EHR systems, such as Epic, for accurate documentation and patient tracking.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to manage critical cases and support patient recovery.
  • Educate patients and families on care plans and health management strategies.
